This immersive 2025 workshop is designed to help you become a more confident and intentional photographer. Through a deeper understanding of light, composition, and visual storytelling, you’ll learn how to create powerful images that capture both moments and meaning.

Daily sessions combine hands-on fieldwork with image critiques, portfolio reviews, and digital workflow guidance. Topics include photographing wildlife and landscapes, mastering light and composition, storytelling through imagery, and the art of travel photography.

Led by National Geographic contributing photographers Andrew Coleman and Jonathan Irish—both seasoned instructors and global explorers—this workshop offers rare access to two of the industry’s most respected voices. Their combined experience spans all seven continents, and their work has appeared in National Geographic, The New York Times, Condé Nast Traveler, Smithsonian, and more.

Arrival: Thursday, October 23th, 4pm
Departure: Tuesday, October 30th, 10am

$3149 per guest participant * maximum of 12 participants

$1695 per additional guest sharing room with meals (not participating in workshop)

Who should participate:

The workshop is aimed at amateur photographers who are a beginner to intermediate (or advanced) in their skillset with a working knowledge of the basic features of their cameras and a desire to take their photography to the next level.

Andrew Coleman


Andrew Coleman is a photographer whose passion for the wild has taken him to the farthest corners of the Earth. Driven by an insatiable curiosity and a deep love for nature, he spends his days capturing the untamed beauty of wildlife and landscapes. His images and travel stories have been featured by National Geographic online and in books and other media. As a contributor to the National Geographic Image Collection, Andrew’s work is a testament to his ability to freeze moments of raw beauty and tell powerful stories through his lens.

With a camera in hand and a spirit for adventure, Andrew has journeyed across all seven continents, exploring some of the planet’s most extraordinary places. His travels have led him through the vast wilderness of Alaska, the dramatic fjords of Patagonia, and the remote ice of the North Pole. From the mystical landscapes of Iceland and Easter Island to the dense rainforests of Borneo and the remote peaks of Bhutan, Andrew’s portfolio is a vibrant tapestry of the world’s natural wonders.

His travels with National Geographic Expeditions have further fueled his wanderlust,  He has given photography lectures and workshops on trips from the geothermal wonders of Yellowstone National Park and the pristine shores of the Galápagos Islands to the the icy realms of Antarctica and safaris in the sun-drenched savannas of sub-Saharan Africa.  He has run workshops in many U.S. National Parks and considers them a perfect backdrop to explore and grow as a photographer.

Jonathan Irish


Jonathan Irish is a travel and conservation photographer with a deep passion for wild places and the stories they hold. During over eight years at National Geographic, he founded and led the acclaimed National Geographic Adventures program, creating itineraries and guiding travelers and photographers through some of the planet’s most awe-inspiring landscapes.

Based in Golden, Colorado, Jonathan has photographed on all seven continents and in more than 100 countries, chasing light from the peaks of Patagonia to the ice of Antarctica. He brings a dynamic, story-driven approach to his work, capturing the spirit of adventure and the urgency of conservation with every frame.

Jonathan is a veteran photo instructor with National Geographic Expeditions, leading workshops across the globe—from Alaska to the Galápagos to the Arctic. His images have appeared in National GeographicThe New York TimesBBCCondé Nast TravelerSmithsonian MagazineTravel + Leisure, and many more.

In 2016, he hit the road on a yearlong assignment to photograph all 59 U.S. national parks for the centennial of the National Park Service—culminating in a 240-page book and national media appearances, including Good Morning America. His journey was more than a road trip—it was a celebration of America’s natural heritage and a call to protect it.

Through every beautifully captured photograph, Jonathan hopes to spark wonder, inspire action, and remind us all of what’s at stake.

Priced per guest participant, single occupancy. Taxes and gratuities included. Opportunity to share rooms with a non-participant guest available at $1695 surcharge plus tax and gratuity charge - space is limited. Activity surcharge for non-participant $125 (not including park entrance and guide gratuity)

Payment Terms & Cancellation Policy

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking per participant. Reservations can be made by calling the Innkeepers at Bentwood Inn at 307-739-1411. All major credit cards are accepted. Deposit is non-refundable within 60 days of the date of arrival. Final payment is due 60 days prior to course start; or if reserving within 60 days full payment will be collected at time of booking. Cancellations made 60 days or less from arrival date, forfeit all monies paid. We highly recommend trip insurance, check with your current insurance provider.
