Here Are the Best Family-Friendly Things to Do in Jackson Hole

Skiing and Snowboarding

Enjoy a day on the slopes with the whole family! There’s nothing more rewarding than watching your little one conquer the bunny slope for the first time. You’ll find that Jackson Hole is one of the best places for skiing and snowboarding in the state. With impressive mountain ranges all around, the scenery is unbeatable. This is one of the best kid-friendly things to do in Jackson Hole.

If skiing isn’t their thing, there’s always snow tubing!

White Water Rafting

If you’re visiting in the summer months, white water rafting is a great family activity. It offers a bit of a thrill while remaining safe and enjoyable for children! Snake River flows over 1,000 miles through the region and offers a variety of rapid classes. We recommend enjoying this activity in Grand Teton National Park to explore that incredible area in the same day.

Hiking

If you’re visiting our area, you’ll inevitably feel in awe of the gorgeous Tetons that serve as a backdrop of the town. There’s no better way to get acquainted with the area than by putting your feet to the dirt. Jackson Hole hiking is one of our favorite ways to explore and enjoy the outdoors in the warmer months. Don’t miss out on these incredible trails and vistas.

Admire the Wildlife

We truly live among the wildlife in Jackson Hole. While it isn’t unusual to spot a herd of bison crossing the road as you’re driving around town, there are other ways to admire these beautiful creatures. We encourage all our visitors to plan a trip to the National Elk Refuge. Winter is the best time to view them as they visit Jackson Hole in migration, but you’ll likely see calves born in the summer months. No matter what time of year, you'll be surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands, of elk grazing the vegetation with the towering Tetons behind them. Talk about a great photo-op!

If you spot wildlife around town, remember to keep your distance and recognize that we live in their habitat. Please be cautious and respectful.
