Why You need to Visit Grand Teton Brewing Company

Originally named Otto Brothers’ Brewing, Grand Teton Brewing Company was founded by Charlie and Ernie Otto in 1988 and was the first microbrewery in the state of Wyoming. The brothers opened the brewery in the hopes of producing preservative-free, great tasting beers, and it was this commitment to quality that skyrocketed the business to success. Now located in Teton Valley, Idaho, the brewery's famous ales and lagers are handcrafted using locally-grown grains and pure Teton Mountain spring water for exceptional freshness. If you’re a craft beer lover, be sure to pay Grand Teton Brewing a visit the next time you're in the Wild West.

Spend a Day at Grand Teton Brewing Company

Just thirty minutes from the Bentwood Inn, guests can visit this fascinating 11,000 square foot facility and tour the production and packaging areas, stroll through the 30 barrel brewhouse, and sample the brewery’s signature beers in the pub. Here are some of the things you’ll see at Grand Teton Brewing Company.

Tours & Pub Visits

Offering a behind-the-scenes look at how their spectacular beers are made, taking a tour of Grand Teton Brewing is a must. Guests can enjoy guided walks with the brewmaster every Friday, as well as free brewery tours at 3 PM Monday through Friday and 3:30 PM on Saturdays. After your tour, head over to the onsite pub where you can enjoy daily drink specials, beer samples, and great grub from local food trucks.

Delicious Brews

The best thing about visiting a brewery is, of course, the beer! Grand Teton Brewing offers a variety of signature brews, seasonal beers, and cellar reserves that are distributed to the entire state of Wyoming and can be found on tap and in bottles throughout the country. Guest favorites include:

  • Grand Teton Brewing Black Cauldron Imperial Stout: This seasonal stout is thick and rich, and is guaranteed to warm you up during the chilly winter months. Black Cauldron is brewed with caramel and roasted malts and boasts smoky flavors of chocolate, coffee, and raisins.
  • Grand Teton Brewing Sweetgrass Pale Ale: A Gold Medal Winner at the 2009 Great American Beer Festival, this crisp and fragrant American pale ale is available year-round and best compliments citrusy foods.
  • Pursuit of Hoppiness: While only available for three months in the fall, Pursuit of Hoppiness double IPA is a delight for those who enjoy the zest of American hops. This beer has a slight caramel flavor and bold red color and is the perfect compliment to grilled meat, pizza, pasta dishes, or roasted root vegetables. Yum!
