Opened in 1994, Snake River Brewing in Jackson Hole is Wyoming’s first brewpub and is situated in an old cinder block building in the heart of the Teton Mountain Range. Over the years, the facility’s industrial look, wood-burning oven, and unpretentious atmosphere have drawn locals and visitors from all over the world - and the award-winning beer and delicious food doesn’t hurt, either! The next time you visit Jackson Hole, book your stay at the Bentwood Inn and take a trip to Snake River Brewing for a fun afternoon you won’t soon forget.

The Best Things to Do at Snake River Brewing

Learn about the Brewing Process

Snake River Brewing is a small eight-barrel brewhouse that produces only 8,000 barrels per year. The size of the facility allows the brewers to focus on smaller batches, quality ingredients, and sustainable brewing techniques. They ship their products to Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana, and utilize locally-sourced products including barley grown in Idaho and cans sourced from Worland, Wyoming. Head brewer Cory Buenning credits the area's water as one of the keys to great beer; sourced from wells near the Snake River, the pure water makes for smooth and refreshing brews.

Take a Tour

Visitors can watch the entire brewing process during guided brewery tours, offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 PM. The tours include a discussion of the 60,000-pound silo located just outside the facility, a stop at the barley mill, and a trip to the mash tun and fermenting tanks. Finally, tour-goers will see the serving tanks which pipe the beer directly to the bar taps. Reservations for tours are required, so be sure to call ahead!

Try the Beer

Whether you prefer lager, ale, light, or dark beer, guests can try all of Snake River Brewery's incredible creations in the brewpub. The company has a commitment to clean, quality products and brews all of our beers entirely by hand. Because of their dedication, Snake River Brewing has received hundreds of national and international brewing awards, including “Small Brewery of the Year” at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado.
