Film Competition

The JHWFF film competition is a nature film equivalent to the Oscars. Here, over 700 filmmakers, writers, and producers join leading scientists and conservationists to exchange ideas, explore new technology, and celebrate filmmaking. Each film is evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, and awards are given in categories like Best Animal Behavior Program, Best Wildlife Habitat Program, Best Conservation Program, and more. Here are the finalist and winners from 2015.

Can’t make it to the festival this year? No need to worry! Jackson Hole WILD On Tour shares wildlife, nature, and science films with audiences across the globe. Check the event website to see when WILD On Tour will be coming to a museum, university, or theater near you.

Educational Programs

In addition to movie screenings, the JHWFF offers a variety of fun events like sunset happy hours, workshops, presentations, and dinners. These programs explore the connection between human life and the natural world. It’s no secret that our environment faces many threats today, and the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival helps to encourage and inspire change through personal action.

Cat Summit Day

One of the most anticipated events of this year's festival is Cat Summit Day on September 24. During a series of conservation-focused sessions, researchers will work with media industry delegates to discuss the future of these animals and their habitats. Wild cats are among the most beautiful and graceful animals on the planet, and exploring the species' issues can help impact their conservation.
