Discover Wyoming Stargazing

Wyoming Stargazing offers some of the best stargazing in Wyoming and facilitates a number of private and public stargazing programs. The organization was founded by a local Jackson Hole resident who sought to further his passion to help others “explore the extraordinary in the ordinary.” By offering opportunities to learn about astronomy, Wyoming Stargazing hopes to inspire learners and help people develop confidence and ownership in their learning.

Public Events

Each Friday (weather permitting), Wyoming Stargazing hosts free public astronomy events at the Center for the Arts. Astronomy educators will use large aperture telescopes to show visitors like you a wide variety of planets, stars, planetary nebulae, neighboring galaxies, and more. While you are viewing the skies, the educators will tell you everything they know about each object and answer any of your questions about astronomy.

Public programs take place on Fridays from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. May-September and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. October-April. You may choose to attend the whole program or show up at a time that works best with your schedule.

Private Programs

If you’re interested in a more intimate and personalized experience, then you won’t want to miss one of Wyoming Stargazing’s private programs! Through these programs, visitors will have the opportunity to spend more time gazing through the organizations’ massive and state-of-the-art telescopes, see more deep space objects, and receive individualized attention from a highly qualified guide. Private programs are offered year-round and can be reserved for groups of up to 13 people. If you wish to go solo, that’s also acceptable!
